The fundamental differences between Wedding Cinema & Video

In this post, we explain the differences between cinema and video, while also providing some valuable tips on how to avoid wedding day regret over your videographer choice.  The information on this page is designed to help you make informed decisions about the product you choose to purchase, but more importantly, it will also help you choose the right provider of video or cinema services based on your desired outcomes.

Wedding videos used to be boring to watch. Lengthy shots from a single camera that last for 30 mins each. These older types of productions often have most couples watching their wedding video reaching for the fast forward button just to find an interesting part of the day to watch.

Around 10 years ago, we decided to reinvent wedding videos in an attempt to make them irresistible to watch. Our plan was to deploy two professional film makers using four cameras along with all the equipment used to make Hollywood movies. Items such as sliders, steady cams, and drones through multiple cameras to obtain fantastic smooth cinematic shots.  When it’s all edited, it’s far more exciting engaging to watch.

While we do still offer documentary video, (one camera and one filmmaker) for those couples on a tighter budget, the production quality is nothing like cinema. Cinema is exciting to watch. It makes family and friends gasp in awe of how awesome your wedding really was. Drones add drama, and WOW factor to the production and the multiple camera angles have everyone watching, totally engaged.  Couples have described it as “A feeling like you’re starring in a Hollywood love story”.  The only difference is, it’s YOU starring as the main character.

In typical form for the wedding industry, there are now many people out there claiming to offer cinema, when all you’ll eventually receive is a low budget video production. So how do you know if you’re making the right choice? We have produced a detailed E book on how to choose the perfect wedding videographer.
